OK…my closet male chauvinist is coming out. It seems that Herman Cain is in a lot of trouble over whether he had inappropriate conduct with female co-workers over a decade ago. While I think this type of behavior is abhorrent, I’m not sure it matters. After watching his accusers on TV, I’m not sure I care. Also, I would just like to remind everyone that the last time we had a scandal of this nature, we elected a two term Democratic President who served over the greatest economic boom our country had seen since the end of World War II. And does anyone really remember who Jennifer Flowers was?
Watching the Republican field go at each other is analogous to watching alligators eat their young. I have to say that I enjoy it very much. It shows the voters what the candidates are really like. It also weakens all of them and provides a host of material for Democrats to use against them in the general election. They will be so bruised and battered next November I doubt they will be able to stand at a podium. Still, I would rather see a discussion about how they will get America back to work than rehashed allegations of what happened so many years ago.
I have said in my previous article “Is Cain Abel” https://rantingrex.com/2011/10/is-cain-abel.html that while I don’t think he has any critical thinking ability, he does, if nothing else, speak from the hip. I find that refreshing. It appears that many Americans feel the same way. While they don’t agree with the man, at least they understand what he’s saying.
It is true, that Cain is not a practiced politician. However, he must have some abilities. He oversaw the operations of an organization that got people to pay for pizza with no more flavor than the box it came in. I mean come on…that has to amount for something! Perhaps he can use his skills of sales and organization to push through workable legislation. All we’re getting now is reaffirmations of what we already have in place. I’m not a fan of reruns. We need to see something new.
I have said before that I doubt I would vote for Herman Cain. I’m still of that mind. However, I am chomping at the bit to see a debate between Cain and Obama. I would like to see what happens when a politician, who admittedly, I like, and a business man, who I kind of like, come head to head during a debate. I think it would be interesting to see the straight answer come head to head with the oral jigsaw puzzle that comes out of a politician’s mouth.
I have to offer though, that if Cain ever became President, and we could have the economic growth we saw during the Clinton years…I’ll pay for the hookers. Hell…if we can get Bill to serve on his cabinet, maybe we can just remove all pretense and make the Whitehouse a Hooters!
