Oooooohhhhhh…I’m just annoyed. It’s been a while since I’ve had a legitimate rant, so hold onto your nickers! I’ve been listening to the far right, and seeing posts from all over the country, on how (insert southern bell voice) “horrible it is that the Confederate flag, a beacon of ‘real’ America has to be taken down and turned into a symbol of hate and destruction, not the icon of southern gentility and righteousness that it truly is.” Yes…genteel. THAT’s how you explain one of the most shameful periods in American history.

Let’s put aside for a moment the fact that this flag is a standard for every racist organization in the U.S. Let’s also put aside that these groups want to kill Blacks, Jews, Asians, Mexicans, Gays, and pretty much anyone that doesn’t look like them (you know…beer belly, sloping forehead, knuckle draggers). OK…that’s not fair. I’m generalizing. You know…like they do. The irony of all these true “Americans,” is that the flag they love represents treason.
That’s right Joe the Dumbass! That flag that you so love because you are so American that sparks fly out of your ass just before you shit red white and blue, is the standard for one of the most treasonous acts this country ever experienced. A group of people that didn’t like the idea of the government telling them they couldn’t buy, sell, trade, beat, rape, incarcerate, subjugate (sorry…I know that’s a big word for you), torture, and wrongfully imprison people, rebelled against their own government and declared war upon their own country. How American of them!
We’re in this situation because at the end of the Civil War, Lincoln pardoned everyone on the Confederate side because he wanted to bring the nation together. Had he not made that decision perhaps Booth would have swung and Lincoln might have lived. As it was, Booth killed Lincoln, and Johnson became President and spent the remaining time in office unraveling everything that Lincoln attempted to accomplish. Johnson was so corrupt he was eventually impeached, but the damage was already done. That’s why we don’t see photos of Lee and many other generals swinging at the end of a rope (yes Gomer…we had cameras back then). Had things been different, perhaps we wouldn’t have so much stupidity in the gene pool.
I’m at a loss to understand how anyone can call themselves an American and also support treason. This romantic notion that this flag is anything other than something that should be set ablaze, along with anyone who salutes it offends me. Want this to be your flag? Great! Leave! I’m sure there’s an island somewhere you can occupy. I hear China’s building a few.
If you think this flag is such a great symbol of our nation, then you’re in the wrong nation. You claim to love America, but then you hate all the Americans. So since you hate everyone in this country so much, why don’t you leave? You’re a traitor. America doesn’t want you here. Also, since you like symbols of hate and rebellion I have some advice for you. Go hang out with ISIS. They think like you. They will even let you hang people and chop their heads off. Go with them. I hear they’re recruiting.
